In production, it is often necessary to pick parts for shipping directly from the machine tools. The exact number of pieces plays a crucial role. Missing parts lead to complaints and affect customer relationships. If, on the other hand, too many parts are packaged, unnecessary costs arise and problems can arise for the customer. Even with the greatest care, it is difficult to keep track of the workpieces produced over a longer period of time and there is a risk that entire batches will be overlooked. Errors also often occur during shift changes when containers are handed over incompletely.

To ensure a high level of process reliability, many companies rely on counting scales. These determine the exact number of pieces based on the average piece weight. Specialized software stores all relevant order data, such as the average piece weight, the target number of pieces and the number of layers. This allows employees to follow a clearly structured process. At the beginning, the new container is tared and a traffic light shows the current status. If there are differences in the weight of the piece, the scale recognizes them immediately and prevents errors in the further process.

Parts that are particularly light are often first weighed on a high-resolution reference scale and then counted on the quantity scale. As soon as a container has been counted, a label can be printed and the order reported back to the ERP system.

To improve ergonomics, the scale can be integrated into a lifting table. This allows employees to work at a working height that is comfortable for them. Working that is stressful or damaging to the back is avoided, especially with empty containers.

Construction

The weighing platform is made of powder-coated steel and has a 360° rotating platform.

Platform size: 1300 x 900 mm, undercarriage platform 1700 x 900, feet 190 mm clear height.
Weighing range: 500 kg / 1100 kg / 2000 kg as standard

This stationary lifting table is equipped with a control unit with a 2.65 m supply cable. In addition to lifting and lowering switches, it is equipped with an emergency stop and a key switch to prevent unauthorized use.

Weighing technology

The platform is equipped with four high-quality strain gauge load cells that are laser-welded (IP68) and OIML-certified are. Optionally, this lifting table scale can be supplied with calibration capability in accuracy class III.

Software

The easy-to-clean aluminum housing with an attractive design was specially developed for use in difficult industrial environments. The weighing terminal with a 15" display has a resistive touchscreen. The fanless system has a solid-state drive and no moving parts. This means that operation is also possible under vibrations.
