Bench scale WS-P

The digital weight per unit area scale was specially developed for determining the weight of weight per unit area in g/m² for many materials (such as paper, textiles and fabrics, rubber, leather, felt, etc.). This scale is often referred to as a paper scale because the scale can calculate the paper weight in g/m² using a sample via an operating mode. For textile samples, the scale is also called a textile scale or fabric scale. When used, a sample with an area of 100 cm² (a square measuring 10 x 10 cm) is placed on the scale and the weight per unit area is displayed in g/m². For example, a weight of 0.30 g of a sample corresponds to a weight per unit area of 30 g/m². The grammage scale is an indispensable, fast measuring tool for the paper and textile industry, as well as for paper shops, graphic artists, designers and fashion designers.

Operation

The user-friendly interface allows even inexperienced personnel to operate the WS-P scale with ease. The weight can be displayed at the push of a button either as basis weight directly in grams per square meter (g/m²) or alternatively in grams. To determine the mass per unit area, the samples are cut with circular sample cutters and then weighed on the basis weight scale. For correct basis weight determination, it is essential that an exact 100 square centimeter sample is placed on the scale. To ensure this and to obtain reproducible results, it is recommended to use a sample cutter for 100 cm² samples. Note: The circular sample cutter is not included in the scope of delivery.

Construction

A stainless steel platform, a robust plastic housing, and a waterproof membrane keypad ensure optimal protection of the paper scale (IP54). A built-in spirit level and four height-adjustable feet allow easy installation of the WS-P at different locations. The draft shield is included.
