Force sensors
With a force sensor, a mechanical variable is converted into an electrical signal. The force sensor thus acts as a mechanical-electrical converter. It is also known as a force transducer, load cell or load cell. The mechanical force is measured in Newtons (N). The measuring range from 4 N to 1900 kN is covered by bosche force sensors. A newton indicates how much force is required to accelerate a stationary body with a mass of 1 kg to a speed of 1 m/s.

How does a force sensor work?
A force sensor measures the tensile and compressive forces acting on the sensor. In order to process these forces into information, the spring body and strain gauges interact. The weight sensor is made of metal , spring bodies and e.g. B. a steel cylinder. The so-called DMS force sensors are used particularly frequently. They offer high accuracy and are comparatively inexpensive. Your DMS force sensor works in three steps: The starting point of a load cell with strain gauges is the spring body. The external load causes stretching on the material surface. This mechanical expansion is converted into an electrical resistance change. To do this, the strain is recorded by strain gauges and converted into an electrical signal. The output signal changes due to the different resistances of the strain gauges. This "resistance change" Changes in tension can be precisely recorded and calculated, so the force introduced can be precisely determined.
Advantages of a force sensor
Force sensors are used in many areas such as test bench technology or the research and development of new processes. They offer a whole range of advantages:
Precise
They ensure very precise results because they can be precisely calibrated. Even the smallest of forces can be measured with a Capture miniature force transducer precisely.
High performance
Even under high loads the results are not falsified and the force sensor remains in use for a long time. Unwanted influences are compensated - e.g. B. Temperature at the zero point.
Versatile
Strain gauge sensors work drift-free and can therefore be used in the long term. This allows the dynamometer to be transferred to a variety of geometric shapes. The spring body can also be optimally reproduced.
What are the different force sensors?
Since not every force measurement takes place under the same conditions, the force sensors are tension and compression force sensor. In a tensile force measurement, the force transducer is loaded with tensile force. The force measuring sensor records the measurement data via a tension sensor. When measuring the compressive force, the force is transmitted directly to the sensor. This allows the probe to be used in a variety of environments and measure force at all levels.
Areas of application of a force sensor
A force measurement sensor is versatile. Due to its changeable structure, it can therefore always be used appropriately for different applications in order to deliver optimal measurement results:
Measurement of forces in test benches - test bench technology< br /> Ideally suited for the areas of hydraulics, electromechanics and mechanics. Used in the automotive industry and in aviation, among other things.
Press-in devices
For the optimal use of press-in devices, force sensors provide the necessary measurement data. Even the smallest changes can be set or detected.
Press test devices
If there is a change in the force applied in a press, this can have catastrophic consequences. With a precise testing device, the process can be continuously monitored and, if necessary, the press can be calibrated in good time.
Testing machines
Testing machines Among other things, f machines are used for material testing of components. They ensure a consistent quality standard and are a central point for the safety of components.
In research and development
In research and development in all sectors, high-precision; Precise measurement results are necessary in order to create high-quality solutions.
Process monitoring and quality assurance
With a force sensor, process monitoring can be optimally implemented in all branches of industry .
