The zippcube® volume measuring device records the dimensions of items — length, width and height — as well as their weight in one semi-automatic process. This creates a reliable basis for master data acquisition, master data validation and further master data analysis in ERP, WMS and dispatch systems.

Volume measuring device for master data acquisition
The BOSCHE zippcube® volume scale is equipped with four laser-welded load cells for reliable weighing. A sturdy, flat scale frame makes it easy to place the objects to be measured. The weighing technology is designed to be as maintenance-free and wear-free as possible.
The semi-automatic data acquisition process takes only a few seconds. Two pairs of high-precision light curtains scan the objects without contact and determine their dimensions regardless of their shape. The included intuitive and configurable software displays all measurement data clearly at a glance. The recorded values can then be transferred to existing ERP, warehouse management and dispatch systems.
Precise volume measurement of cubic and non-cubic objects
Volume measurement is performed using a light grid measuring gate. The sturdy measuring gate is moved manually over the item to be measured and determines the smallest enclosing cuboid of the object. This makes it possible to measure not only cubic packages, but also irregularly shaped, transparent or foil-wrapped objects.
Object alignment is not required, and measurement is possible in both directions. The measurement results are available immediately after the measuring process. The determined volume and weight data can be saved as a CSV file or transferred to an SQL database.

The zippcube® can easily measure both cardboard- and film-wrapped objects, as well as non-cubic objects, regardless of their reflective properties. The recorded data is conveniently saved as a CSV file or transferred directly to your inventory management or warehouse management systems via SQL/REST API. This ensures seamless integration without media disruption.
Typical applications include parcel measurement with volume measurement, air freight inspection, calculation of freight and package dimensions, as well as the automated capture of geometric master data for warehouse management.
