Weighing modules for dosing scales and filling scales

We offer scale components for the production of bulk material systems such as silo scales, container scales, big bag scales, dosing and mixing weighing systems. Our customers come from areas such as the food and beverage industry, chemistry and the trade in building materials. Dosing applications here include single-component dosing, multi-component dosing for emptying (negative weighing) or filling.

Where are weighing modules for dosing scales used?

An example of the increasing use of dosing systems is the agricultural sector. Especially in the area of automation of feeding systems or feed filling and emptying. Modern industrial facilities in the pharmaceutical and food sectors are also equipped with appropriate systems. But manufacturing companies from other industries also rely on semi- or fully automatic dosing scales.

What is special about the weighing modules and weighing controllers for dosing & Filling scales?

Our weighing controllers are powerful, high-precision dosing/weighing modules that are designed for direct use in conjunction with DMS load cells.
The standardized "Weighing controller PMW“ - as a front panel installation device - Depending on the software for weighing and dosing up to 14 components/raw materials with different dosing properties.
As a self-sufficient variant, the "Dosing scale controller CSW” can also be used externally (e.g. for silo weighing in agriculture).

What weight ranges are possible with dosing scales?

The maximum net weights depend on the load cells installed. Thanks to the high sampling rate of 300 measurements/second, the weighing and dosing systems can be resolved with a weighing accuracy of up to 10,000 parts (depending on the load cell). This high level of weighing accuracy is also achieved through modern software and high-quality electronics of the weighing controller. This makes it possible to design weighing applications in various weight ranges from under one kilogram to several tons.

How does the dosage work?

By means of separate coarse and fine flow dosing, as well as high-resolution load cells, dosing systems with the highest precision can be implemented with the scale electronics from BOSCHE. The threshold value for the fine flow dosage can be set as a percentage of the target weight using the weighing controller. From this value onwards, the output for the fine flow is set. The last few percent, until the target weight is reached, is fine-tuned. Thanks to the "intelligent self-learning electronics", this process is optimized independently within just a few weighings. This enables fast filling times.

Function of the weighing and dosing systems

The weighing terminals are pre-programmed for dosing and filling applications. The two weighing controllers PMW & CSW only differ in their design. There are various programs to choose from.

Weighing Filling Empty Mixing

Simple weighing - program B

Display of the weight value on the device or for further processing in an automation system.
A direct connection of up to 8 load cells (connected in parallel) is possible. This means that simple weighing applications such as container weighing can be implemented. Quick commissioning is possible using the buttons on the device. Outputting to a printer is also done simply by pressing a button. However, this is used less with control cabinet devices. Special buttons for taring or zeroing are also positioned on the surface.

One-component dosage for filling - program C

These are weighing applications in which the weight on a scale increases by “filling”. The weighing controller program for “automatic filling” includes all functions to achieve the preset weight value. The coarse/fine dosing enables quick and precise dosing.

Funktionsschema einer Einkomponente-Ddosier-Waage zum Füllen

Procedure
The start command (via a digital input) puts the process into operation.
1. Preload test (tare)
2. Stability is checked (rest position)
3. The output for coarse current is set
4. Threshold value (adjustable) switches to fine current
5. Shutdown including follow-up time (adjustable)
6. After checking the target weight, the value is saved and added as a subtotal to the material used
7. Now an actuator for emptying can be controlled via a digital output
8. The device jumps back to step 1 and waits for a new start command

Features
• Serial communication protocol for programming and parameterization
• Suitable for repeated filling into a container/hopper for semi-automatic applications
• Dosing mode selectable (automatic filling or manual)
• Tare check at start can be selected for individual recipes (depending on the container)
• Automatic printing and saving of dosing data
• Repeats from 1 - infinity
• Automatic correction of the caster weight
• Display dosing time and alarm message

One-component dosage for emptying - program S

One-component dosage for emptying (negative weighing)

Procedure
The start command (via a digital input) puts the process into operation.
1. Preload test (tare)
2. Stability is checked (rest position)
3. The output for coarse current is set
4. Threshold value (adjustable) switches to fine current
5. Shutdown including follow-up time (adjustable)
6. After checking the target weight, the value is saved and deducted from the total
7. The device jumps back to step 1 and waits for a new start command

Features
• Serial communication protocol for programming and parameterization
• Suitable for repeated fillings of the same weight for a high number of cycles from a container
• Tare check at start can be selected for individual recipes (depending on the container)
• Automatic printing and saving of dosing data
• Repeats from 1 - infinity
• Automatic correction of the caster weight
• Display dosing time and alarm message

Multi-component dosage - program 3-6-14

Multi-component dosing recipes for up to 14 products

Functional diagram

Procedure
The start command (via a digital input) puts the process into operation.
1. Preload test (tare)
2. Stability is checked (rest position)
3. Product is selected
4. The output for coarse current is set
5. Threshold value (adjustable) switches to fine current
6. Switch-off including follow-up time (adjustable)
X. Process 3-6 is repeated for the entire recipe
7. After checking the target weight, the value is saved individually for each product
8. The device jumps back to step 1 and waits for a new start command

Features
• Serial communication protocol for programming formulas and recipes
• Suitable for mixing applications, even with different products and quantities
• Tare check at start can be selected for individual recipes (depending on the container)
• Automatic printing and saving of dosing data
• Repeats from 1 - infinity
• Automatic correction of the caster weight
• Display dosing time and alarm message
