For legally compliant and tamper-proof storage of weighing data, the alibi memory is essential in digital scales. This is especially important for legally verified weighings where the data is processed via IT systems—such as printing weight labels or delivery notes through a computer rather than a printer directly connected to the scale. In such cases, regulatory authorities require electronic archiving using a tamper-proof, verifiable data memory. However, if the scale is directly connected to a printer without an intermediate IT system or PC, an alibi memory is not required. The alibi memory meets legal standards when weighing results must be electronically processed and stored, ensuring all relevant data is securely and traceably archived.

• Storage Capacity: The alibi memory stores all weighing information in a tamper-proof manner for at least the legally required period of 3 months and, depending on the model, offers sufficient space for extensive data sets..
• Verified Measurements: The alibi memory is required when weighing data is processed electronically—e.g., in conjunction with IT systems, ERP software, or external printers.
• Compliance with Verification Law: To meet verification regulations, the alibi memory guarantees tamper-proof electronic archiving of weighing results.
• Compatibility: The alibi memory is compatible with BOSCHE indicators such as EWI, MWI, MCI, MSI and transmitters like PMW, CSW, and WTQ.

Technical Details:

• Data in Alibi Memory: The memory stores gross weight, net weight, tare weight, and the sequential number of the alibi entry.
• Data Retrieval: On MWI series devices, stored weighing values can be accessed via the menu or a PC command for a specific alibi number.
• CSV Export (for non-verified hardware): On devices like the CSW-series, the entire alibi memory can be exported to a USB stick in CSV format.

Important Notes:

• Retroactive installation of the alibi memory is not possible. It must therefore be integrated at the time of order.
